A blue 2x3 rectangle planted in the centre of the reels added a 2x multiplier to any wilds that landed within its borders during the base game. When I triggered the bonus round this area expanded to cover the three middle reels and upgraded my wilds with 2x, 3x, or 5x multipliers.
In addition to performing their normal function, any wilds that I landed on the reels were collected in a meter placed above the grid. Once I had collected enough symbols, the reel set was swapped out for a 5x3 grid of diamonds. I only needed 3 scatters to trigger the bonus round and receive 10 free spins, whereas 4 or 5 scatters would have given me 15 or 20 free spins. With the expansion of the Power Range and its increased multiplier potential, this turned out to be quite a rewarding feature.
Wolf Call slot is a bit of a conundrum because it presents a refreshing set of features with what feels like a dated aesthetic. I will say that although the theme’s visuals weren’t to my preference, I can see the appeal of a slot adopting a classic-style nature theme reminiscent of titles like 2017’s Wolf Gold by Pragmatic Play that boasts significantly higher potential than this slot’s $250 000.
Once I got into the gameplay I fully enjoyed the presence of the Power Range while every spin brought me closer to the fixed jackpot prizes. The free spins mode also delivered on high-value winning opportunities, thanks to the boosted multiplier wilds and the expansion of the Power Range. Even though I feel the presentation could have been more inventive, this title delivers an engaging experience with exciting moments aplenty, along with the top prize of $250 000 to aim for.
