The features are what I have come to expect from Amazing Link slots with some small tweaks to keep things interesting.

Amazing Link

I had to land at least 6 glowing orb symbols to trigger the Amazing Link feature. The orbs that activated the feature became sticky while the remaining reel positions were vacated and the game gave me 3 respins. Prize values appeared on the orbs and when more landed during the feature, they also became sticky and my respins reset to 3. The feature ended when my respins ran out and I claimed the sum of the symbols in view, or when I filled the grid with Amazing symbols, claiming the 5000x Mega jackpot prize.

Picking Game

As I played, the Amazing symbols that appeared were collected in the fates’ cauldron. This resulted in the random activation of a picking game where I had to choose from orbs that emerged from the cauldron and revealed 3 matching jackpot icons to claim a corresponding prize. On offer were the Mini, Minor, Major or Mega jackpots that paid 20x, 50x, 500x or 5000x my bet, respectively. This feature could also randomly trigger at the end of an Amazing Link round.

Free Spins

To get into this bonus round I had to land 3 scatters on reels 1, 3, and 5. There were 3 free spins options available, although I had to activate the feature a couple of times to access all of them.

Past Free Spins gave me 10 spins where a random reel would be filled with Amazing Wild symbols on every spin. Present Free Spins also came with 10 spins and removed all low-value symbols from the game. Future Free Spins offered only 3 spins but merged the other 2 options, which was personally my favourite choice.

Amazing Link Fates slot offers an interesting narrative and lucrative opportunities, but the familiarity of the gameplay dilutes its impact. I can’t recall if I’ve ever seen the myth of the fates used as the basis for a slot theme, but it certainly differentiates this title from many others based on Greek mythology. The bonus features echo tried and tested formulas that make it easy to get into the game and to know what to expect. While this is objectively a positive thing, it sort of leaves this game in the dust when compared to other recent titles where studios have taken noticeable risks in the formulation of their features and gameplay.

Playing it safe isn’t a deal-breaker though and SpinPlay has made the effort to include some gameplay differentiation, such as how the picking game can be triggered in two ways. All things considered, this title will appeal more to the casual crowd and die-hard fans of previous Amazing Link titles. It’s top potential prize per spin is an average $265 000, so one can only hope that the future of this slot series includes a lot more innovation.
