Gateway Casinos Announces Its Plan To Build Cascades Casino Chatham
Gateway Casinos and Entertainment Limited, a leading casino operator in Canada, announced its plan to build a Cascades Casino Chatham by spending nearly $28.2 million. The new casino Chatham will be built in Chatham-Kent, southwestern Ontario.
The casino network is currently operating more than 20 casinos that are spread across at least three Canadian provinces. The operator spoke in the last week of March that the new Ontario casino house would provide more than 300 slots and ten gaming tables. Interestingly, the casino will also feature the famous restaurant brands of the network such as Match Eatery and Public House and The Buffet.
The Burnaby-based based operator added that the construction of the new venue would begin in the later days of spring. Further, the casino is expected to open in the middle of 2019.
Tony Santo, the CEO of Gateway Casino, confirmed in a March 28 statement that the $28.2 million investment plan in Chatham-Kent would add 200 new jobs to the area. Additionally, the project would churn millions during the phases of construction. The operator also sees excellent financial impetus with the innovative entertainment destination, added Santo.
Gateway Casinos already runs three Cascades Casino venues in Penticton, Kamloops, and Langley – all are British Columbian communities. It also announced that the opening of Cascades Casino Chatham would lead to the closing of the brand’s Gateway Casinos Dresden venue in the nearby locality.
In March, Gateway Casinos pocketed approximately $376.1 million after signing a lease-back contract for its three properties in the Vancouver area. The casino operator added that the investment in Chatham-Kent development is $20 million more than its spending on the renovation of Sarnia’s Gateway Casinos. Interestingly, Sarnia’s Casinos will be transformed as Starlight Casino Point Edward. Additionally, the project received a proposal to expand it to the nearby Hanover venue of Gateway Casinos.
