Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment has heralded its taking over of Canada’s Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort and Casino Niagara after doing away with a few rivals the previous year and securing the prized ‘Niagra Gaming Bundle’.
Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment, an enterprise of Connecticut’s centre-recognized Mohegan tribe, expressed through Wednesday’s official press release that MGE Niagra Entertainment Incorporated, its subsidiary, was instrumental in securing the deal in September, which involves the handling of daily gaming procedures within the two casinos for the coming twenty years.
The massive Mohegan Sun casino resort and the smaller Mohegan Sun Pocono gaming venue come under the umbrella of Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment and now the Ontario agreement gives it the responsibility of running the 5000 seater Niagara Falls Entertainment Centre, coming up adjacent to the Fallsview Casino Resort.
The Falls Management Group with its HQ at Toronto had been managing Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort since 2004 and Casino Niagara since 1996, both owned by the state based Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation. But with the end of this arrangement, Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment, formerly Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority until its change of name in 2017, declared through its press release that its aim is to use the troika of Niagara Falls venues to produce a pulsating gaming industry for Ontario to increase footfall, community investments and employment throughout the district.
A second Wednesday press release was utilized by Chief Executive Officer for Uncasville-based Mohegan, Mario Kontomerkos to explain that Christian Block had been appointed to manage its upcoming ‘Project Inspire’ complex in South Korea as well as all its new Canadian operations. He said the experienced industrial entity will give an account to its CEO, Michael Silberling directly and will ensure a complete ‘Mohegan Way’ of functioning with regularized conformity.

“Reputed for our all-inclusive nature of entertainment and remarkable experiences of our visitors, we are honored to be involved in the revolution of the Niagra entertainment and gaming scenario as operators of the renowned twin casino facilities which includes the upcoming Niagara Falls Entertainment Centre.”
