Responsible Gambling Becomes Priority In B.C Following Gateway PI
Modern casinos have been emphasizing on responsible gambling since a very long time. In British Columbia this has become a matter of grave concern and priority as Gateway, a heavyweight in Canadian casino arena, has made a great pledge for responsible gaming. There have been many issues recently related to gambling addiction. This is the reason very active moves are being taken in some circles for curbing the problem.
In responsible gambling, the casinos take preventive measures so that players with gambling problems cannot spend much time at the casino and cannot spend more money as well. The company has been granted a final approval for some new expansion projects and promises to abide by responsible gambling and to GameSense Program developed by the B.C Lottery Corporation.
Presently, Gateway is being criticized for its plans of building a C$70 million casino complex in Delta’s Ladner area. One of the main criticisms is that the making of this project will mean promotion of gambling and add to more gambling problems.
In order to combat this problem successfully, Gateway made its proclamation about responsible gambling. They have also come with the assurance that player health would be the main concern and focus for B.C punters and natives of the place. The main aim of the strategy is promoting positive play, reducing problem gambling, informed decision-making and providing treatment and support for anyone who is facing problem in these issues.
It is evident by these positive steps taken by Gateway that they are putting customers in the first place always. With advent of online gambling, problem gambling is on the steep rise and this is leading to many other kinds of deeper problems and issues. So, many online and modern casinos across Canada have come up with mandates for dealing with the issue of problem gambling.
British Columbia is not the only province, which is worried and voicing concerns on problem gambling; Quebec is also trying to solve these issues in their own province. New plans have been announced for injecting C$35 million in various programs which will help in dealing with various kinds of addictions, which includes gambling.
Gateway had an extremely ambitious year in which was included the acquisition of the Central Gaming Bundle, which was a deal signed with Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation. Presently, the same company is looking to tell and remind people about problem gambling. This acts as a huge advantage for the casino on the whole. One example in this regard is that of Mr. Green, which is one of the best and top-rated casinos where Canadian players play. The casino is a massive supporter and proponent of responsible gaming. The company saw a massive increase in their revenues in 2017, standing evidence of the fact that players like good ethics and values.
The issue of responsible gambling has been doing the rounds for quite some time now. There is universal agreement that casinos should play an important role in helping problem gamblers. On the contrary runs a school of thought where it is said that gamblers have their own autonomy and they will be responsible for their own actions and doings. Whatever approach seems correct, it is good to see casino heavyweights like Gateway taking initiative for curbing problem gambling and promoting responsible gambling.
