Exploding Wilds

Simply landing an exploding wild symbol on the reels wasn’t enough to unleash its power, but when it was included as part of one of my winning combos, it detonated in a burst of electricity and added 2-4 regular wilds to the reels on the next cascade. The madness didn’t stop there though, because if one of these generated wilds landed on an existing wild, they merged to become a multiplied wild and the same happened with the exploding wilds.

These accompanied the Win Multiplier that increased by +1 every time a wild was included in a winning combination and would only reset after my Rolling Reels sequence ended.

Free Spins

I found the method to trigger this feature to be as off-centre as the theme. A box to the left of the reels displayed a random number of wild symbols on every spin. As I soon discovered, this was how many of them I needed to collect to trigger free spins. The actual bonus round was an identical experience to the base game, aside from the fact that if I collected 5 or 6 more wilds, I could retrigger the feature and gain more free spins.

Dr Wildshock Mad Loot Lab slot is a refreshing experience with lots going for it but an inexplicably uneventful bonus round. This slot gets almost everything right. Its cartoon aesthetic plays perfectly into the mad scientist theme and the impressive animations make it a visually engrossing experience. The sheer excitement I felt when I was in the midst of a winning Rolling Reels sequence with the multiplier wilds and win multiplier firing off is hard to describe, but I expected more from the free spins which did not have any additional modifiers or features, a confusing aspect of a game that is otherwise wholly competent.

I wouldn’t let the lack of pizzazz in free spins dissuade you from giving this slot a fair chance, because it’s a fun-filled ride of winning opportunities with a good top winning potential o $250 000.
