Playtech was established in 1999 in Tartu Estonia. They went straight to work on defining their products and market and signed their first licensee in 2001. More and more products were added to their offering, including Bingo Network, Live Casino, iPoker network, Videobet, Mobile Casino, and land-based products.
In 2006, Playtech was listed on the London Stock Exchange and officially became a public company. That year also saw the opening of their Bulgarian offices. Playtech went on to launch its sports betting product and expand its market base into the likes of Spain, Estonia, Serbia and Italy
2010 was the year of multiple acquisitions and integrations that set Playtech on the path to becoming the leading multi-channel gaming solutions provider. These acquisitions include games aggregator, GTS; UK Bingo provider, Virtue Fusion; Gambling games creator, Ash Gaming; Leading mobile enabler, Mobenga; Marketing Specialists, PTTS; and Management system provider, Intelligence Gaming.
By 2012, Playtech was listed on London’s Main Market and they had acquired Geneity – the leading sports betting provider in the UK. The following year they further complemented their poker offering with the bolt-on acquisition of PokerStrategy.
