The brand new Hollywood Casino York which is situated at the York Galleria Mall has a set grand opening date of August 12. The venue will boast around 500 slot machines, 24 table games, and a Barstool Sportsbook and racebook with other amenities. The construction, which cost $120 million, is in Springettsbury Township at the former location of the Sears store.
In an announcement, Penn National Gaming stated that the venue’s doors would open for the first time on Thursday, August 12th, at Noon, with the formality of final customary regulatory approvals expected to be completed well before then.
The approximately 80,000 square foot casino is listed as a category 4 and is Penn National’s third establishment in Pennsylvania, alongside its Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course in Grantville and The Meadows Racetrack & Casino in Washington. The company is also nearing the completion of its fourth property, Hollywood Casino Morgantown, which will open later in the year.
Ruben Warren, the Vice President and General Manager for Hollywood Casino York said,
“The countdown to our grand opening begins today. We’re very excited to soon welcome patrons to this beautiful new property, where they’ll be able to experience premier gaming, dining and entertainment.”
Aside from gambling options, the facility will also have a Diner & Drinks, a casual restaurant and bar, and the Classic Grill takeaway restaurant.
Penn National has scheduled a soft opening with two invitation-only test days. The resulting proceeds will be donated to local charitable organizations, including York County Veterans Outreach, York County Food Bank, Sandy’s Veterans Helping Hand, and the area’s VFWs and American Legion posts.
The good news for the community is that Hollywood Casino York is hiring for various positions from operations to security and surveillance. Interested applicants can simply walk in or visit the casino’s website.
