The New Horizons Attendees at the Responsible Gaming Conference have got enlightened about the innovative solutions to fight the menace of problem gambling. These include adoption of AI in gambling and loyal schemes. At the Parc Hotel and Casino of Vancouver the conference and workshop was held that had focused on problems caused by gambling addiction in people.

A number of studies have shown that AI technology can be used to detect signs of gambling addition in the players. AI algorithms help trace symptoms of problem gambling behaviors in players early. This technology can be faster than the affected people to figure out the signs. Element AI’s Katy Yam thinks the mathematical approach which involves algorithms and AI can be a useful solution.

Weird as it may sound, the loyalty programs can be used to get insight into money and time spent after the online casino games and gambling at the casinos. Loyalty programs typically reward players as they reach specific goals. The players in turn feel a sense of accomplishment and being valued. This may not be always harmful, but some players outperform others. This can help in detecting signs of obsessive and addictive behavior.

GameSense is being used at the BC casinos to detect problem gambling signs. It is now available at 17 casino venues in BC. The players get push-notification when the system detects anything amiss and after that they are required to visit the GameSense area in that casino zone. They receive advice on alternatives and possible solutions to tackle gambling behavior.
