Australian iGaming developer, Lightning Box now has even more of a presence in the US as it recently launched an assortment of its titles to West Virginia’s regulated iGaming market.
Following regulatory approval, the provider now offers two of its top-performing titles, Chicken Fox and Lightning Horseman in the state, which only recently opened its market for regulated online casino-style products.
This marks the fourth state that Lightning Box is now permitted to operate in. The provider went live in Michigan in January 2021 and then received the go-ahead to ply its trade in Pennsylvania later that year in November. The company’s entry into these states was facilitated by SG Digital, its long-term US associate and the online gaming division of Scientific Games.
Lightning Box also currently markets its titles in New Jersey-licensed online casinos, having operated in the state since 2014. The Garden State was an early adopter of iGaming, regulating the sector in 2013 as it already had established legal gambling.
The Lightning Box CEO and co-founder Peter Causley relayed the company’s excitement at having cleared the requirements in a newly regulated state at a time when the entire country is beginning to embrace regulated iGaming.
He explained that the developer’s products have gained popularity in the US in both the land-based and social casino markets and that he is excited that players will now have access to the company’s iGaming offering.
Causley described West Virginia’s market as being rich in opportunity, “given the number of established operators in the state” and also stated that he anticipates a productive working relationship with these operators, thanks to SG Digital.

Lightning Box also recently launched in Colombia, and across the rest of Latin America. This opportunity came about thanks to a partnership with iGaming group Betsson.
