Las Vegas is forever replete with temptations, thrills and surprises. 2019 is expected to introduce major changes for the residents and visitors exploring this glitzy region. The New Year celebration was dazzling and full of fun, as expected. The casinos and hotels in Las Vegas are about to introduce some new attractions.
Both in downtown Vegas and the Strip several major casino resorts are being set up now, though they will start operating only in 2020. The renovated Monte Carlo Resort and Casino, named Park MGM is another anticipated development. The MGM Resorts International spent almost $500 million in renovating the property.
MGM celebrated opening of the resort by several events. The Italian marketplace Eataly with 40,000-square-foot space also hogged headlines. The renovated resort has 2 hotels-the NoMad Las Vegas and Park MGM.
The inauguration of Park MGM coincided with LADY GAGA ENIGMA residency launch. The Golden Globe and Grammy Award-winner diva enchanted the delegates with her chartbusters at Park MGM’s Park Theater. She sported a bold look as usual. Rumors are doing the round that Britney Spears will return to Vegas in 2019. Las Vegas will see some big musical events in 2019 too.
Post completion of a huge renovation project that made headlines, The Cosmopolitan said it will do away with parking fees. So, the city residents will get free parking for the 1st hour. It is on the heels of Wynn Las Vegas and a few more strip resorts. However, not all Strip properties follow such policies.
The World Series of Poker ditched the November nine format, but the World Poker Tour is adhering to Main Tour Main Event final. The popular poker series was announced last spring. It was said that televised final tables starting from Season XVII will get postponed and they would be played at the Luxor’s HyperX Esports Arena. The first table will get recorded on March 12 when the final six contenders of the WPT Gardens Championship reconvene.
The Raiders may shift to Vegas and leave Oakland earlier than expected. This can happen before the 2020 NFL season kicks in. The team is embroiled in a legal suit with Oakland. Once the Las Vegas Stadium becomes operational next year the Raiders will play there. However, where they will play in the 2019 season is not clear yet.
