Hollywood Casino York Boasts New Cashless Technology
Penn National’s new casino opened recently with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on August 12. This is the company’s third gaming property in Pennsylvania and it has a fourth scheduled to open later in the year. The new property integrates the first cardless and contactless technology in the state, with 500 slot machines and 24 table games on offer.
The casino was constructed at a cost of around $120 million and offers guests the finest gaming and entertainment, including the first retail Barstool in the state.
Todd George, Executive Vice President of Operations for Penn National spoke at the ribbon-cutting ceremony, saying,
“We’re thrilled to be opening our 43rd property in North America, our third in the Commonwealth, and showcasing Hollywood Casino York’s unique style of premier gaming, dining and entertainment in a truly modern atmosphere.”
The ceremony was attended by state gaming officials, legislators, and local VIPs. In addition to its gaming offerings, the property also has upmarket casual dining options.
Table game enthusiasts will be thrilled with the blackjack, craps, roulette, and mini-baccarat options, among others. The Barstool Sportsbook features a 20-foot wall of displays, bar-top video poker, sports betting cashiers, as well as sports wagering and racing kiosks.
The facility covers an area of approximately 80 000 square feet and boasts state-of-the-art “3C” technology, which is cardless, cashless and contactless. This is achieved via the “mywallet” system, facilitated by Everi Holdings and Acres Manufacturing.
Todd George continued his statement, saying,
“This is a revolutionary enhancement for our industry. This technology further supports Penn National’s omnichannel business approach where we are providing the best experiences, whether people are playing with us at our properties or on our numerous online offerings.”
Smartphone digital wallet users can process cashless transactions at slot machines and table games; this includes buy-ins and chip redemptions.
Penn National’s next project, Hollywood Casino Morgantown, is due to open later in 2021 and will be located in Berks County, joining Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course, the Meadows Racetrack & Casino in Washington and the new Hollywood Casino York.
