NJ Resident Claims The Highest Win In US IGaming History
A New Jersey resident had the weekend of her life when she landed a huge $3.5 million while playing at the Borgata Online Casino. This is officially the highest ever iGaming prize paid out in the USA.
The winner was identified as Dori B who was playing the MGM Grand Millions online slot at the time of her spectacular windfall. The game itself can only be played on BetMGM iGaming platforms like the Borgata app in New Jersey.
The winner revealed that she opted to play the game once she had seen the grand prize, saying she “just knew it had to hit soon.”
“I thought, ‘Someone is going to hit it, maybe it could be me. On the night I won, all it took was a $10 spin. One second later, I became a millionaire, thanks to BetMGM, and my life has changed forever,” She stated.
The previous record, also held by BetMGM, was a $3.2 million prize paid out in 2021.
Dori stated that she has several plans for her newfound wealth.
“I’m a program manager, so I see things in phases. My next phase, filled with family vacations and volunteer work, starts now. My dream of becoming a mega jackpot winner has come true,” she said.
While this win is impressive, the US has some ways to go before it can match the global record for an online slot jackpot which stands at an astonishing $23.6 million, claimed by a Finnish player in 2013.
As one of the top four iGaming firms in the US, BetMGM competes against industry giants like FanDuel, DraftKings, and the emerging Caesars.
Aside from Borgata, BetMGM’s online offering includes content under its own brand and at Party Casino as well. The company claims that it is the largest online gaming company across the four states where it operates, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia, with a claimed 32% of gross gaming revenue.
