Playtech Has Secured Approval For Its First US-based Live Casino Studio
Industry leader in gambling technology Playtech is celebrating the procurement of a long-term lease for its first Live Casino studio in Michigan, opening the door to the rest of the US.
The studio will employ Playtech’s Live Casino technology, mirroring the video capability of the provider’s Riga flagship studio.
Playtech uses its technology to provide integrated Live Casino content across retail and digital channels as well as various product verticals. Its Michigan studio will provide tailored areas for operator-specific gaming tables as well as networked tables. The new facility is designed for constant expansion to accommodate Playtech’s growing US footprint.
With the approval of the state’s gambling regulator secured, the home of the Live Casino studio will be in Southfield, a city that is emerging as the state’s leading technology and innovation hub.
Playtech revealed that the new venue will feature a live dealer gaming experience and gameshow-style content for Michigan’s burgeoning online gambling market. The studio will also bring employment opportunities to Southfield residents.
Playtech Chief Operating Officer, Shimon Akad commented on the new development, saying that the new facility represents “the first step in our US Live expansion” and that similar venues are planned in all states where this type of operation is permitted.
Akad further stated that the new Michigan studio is “being designed to be one of the more sophisticated studios tailored to the US market.”
Regarding the potential for new local job opportunities, Akad remarked that his company prides itself on “being a key member of all our communities” and said Playtech is happy to be able to create jobs as it expands across the US.
Playtech first entered the US kicked in 2020 when its online casino content went live on bet365 in New Jersey.
Since then, Playtech has forged a series of partnerships with locally licensed operators across several states. Recently the company publicised a content delivery deal with Parx Casino where it will provide its operator partner with access to an impressive selection of content from its IMS Platform. The company plans to begin providing games and related products as soon as the casino has unveiled its online product in Michigan.
