Global iGaming industry leader, Playtech recently announced the finalization of a new licensing agreement with major slot machine producer, International Game Technology (IGT).
The deal will allow Playtech to offer games with features from IGT’s expansive US patent portfolio. The games will also be available across regulated markets in the United States.
The freshly-inked agreement will enable Playtech to expand its footprint and diversify its casino offering in North America. Playtech recently also secured a license in the US state of New Jersey, going live with bet365 and BetMGM’s gaming network.
This move forms part of Playtech’s vision to collaborate with leading companies, utilizing the increased scale to create greater distribution capacity across North America

Shimon Akad, Chief Operating Officer at Playtech, commented on the deal saying, “The agreement with IGT represents another significant milestone in the growth of our presence in North America as we build on the momentum of the past few months.”
He further stated the Playtech “looks forward to offering the US market more of our market-leading software and technology in what is a rapidly growing US market”.
Meanwhile, IGT’s Chief Operating Officer Nick Khin emphasized that the company is “delighted to have reached an agreement to provide Playtech with access to the largest game feature patent portfolio in the US. Partnering up with Playtech will support our collective innovation and growth and validate our portfolio further.”
“Working in partnership with Playtech will help propel our collective innovation and growth, and further validates our significant IP portfolio” he concluded.
